DiscDrifters, LLC, announced today the launch of a new Web App specializing in low-cost travel for Disc Golfers.  DiscDrifters mission is to make disc golf travel fun, easy, and cost effective.

Disc golf travel is a growing and untapped niche.  There are approximately 4M disc golfers, most of which, love to play at new courses and watch Pro Tour tournaments abroad.  However, there has been no clean way to setup travel plans; till now.

This modern Web App works great on smartphones, tablets, and most other all devices and computers.  It renders colorful maps showing courses based on rating and calendars for travel options.  Subscribers can also rate and add courses, in addition to adding tournaments for driving attendance.

Powered by Google Maps™ mapping service, DiscDrifters offers considerable value-add by guiding the travel experience using enhanced search capabilities.  In addition, it offers points-of-interest along the way, including nearby courses and places to eat (based on favorite food).  Another advanced feature is recommending the best near-by airports.

DiscDrifters Founders, Kevin and David, met on the disc golf course in the Central Coast, California.  Not only did they share a passion of disc golf, but also in IT and software having run several businesses.  It was inevitable that they would blend their expertise with their passion for disc golf.

Their inspiration came from many disc golfing road trips with their sons.  Planning travel was time-consuming and expensive.  Kevin mentioned to Dave on the course one day “I woke up at 2am with an idea”.  The rest is history.  “This is a service I wish was available years ago” said Kevin, “it was always a pain to navigate multiple web sites to get event dates, course destinations, closest airports, and set travel plans. With DiscDrifters, it’s one-stop shopping”.

Travel options include airline, hotel, car, and camping. “I’m real excited about the camping option” said Dave, “disc golfers love the outdoors, and this provides a great low-cost option”.

In the future, DiscDrifters is planning to add travel packages like road trips and vacations plans.
